this winter (2) different discussion groups will be held at Jacob’s Well. These are meant to be open groups meaning anyone is welcome to attend and contribute, there will be no assumptions made or judgments passed. Discussions will be hosted by a number of individuals, all with a curious mindset, who encompass a broad list of credentials including professors, pastors, and teachers. While the topics are different the point is the same, to gather a diverse group of people who desire to explore issues of faith, truth, and spirituality, in a critical and intellectual way. This is an opportunity to cultivate one’s perception and understanding of these issues in an honest and civil environment of knowledge, experience, and openness. As always, feel free to arrive late or leave early as your schedule permits. The different groups are listed below.

Discussion Review - Sunday, October 16

Over the course of two hours many different aspects to information, education, and influence were discussed by an ever changing group of individuals. Several themes however kept returning, all of which dealt with the idea of “influence.” The initial question for the night: “how has media (not just news but TV, music, movies, the internet, etc.) come to do more than report or represent events in the world? How has it come to create those events as much as describe them?”
